I use the wide end of my 24-85mm lens for pretty much everything lately. Years ago I had a 24-70mm lens that I bought for landscapes and travel, but I find that wide angles work for so many applications. For this shot, I wish I could have gone even wider but I'll take what I can get.

I like it,love that toning...but i do think you cudve added some more shadow, it wudve have given the effect of good contrasts and at the same time creted a more intriguing atmosphere...
