This photo wasn't doing anything for me so I did what any self-respecting photoblogger does: I processed every living drop from it.
Seriously, this shot has way too much going on visually, although I think it's interesting that the mailbox is so well hidden. But I think that the toning saves this shot and I'm much happier with it than the unprocessed version. Since I'm shooting on film, one would think that I'd be against Photoshop processing, but I'm enjoying it a lot and I keep telling myself that I'm not really doing anything I couldn't do with an enlarger or different film processing techniques. In the end, photography and this blog are purely for fun for me, and the moment I start taking it too seriously is when I'll lose interest.

I like your thoughts on the creative process. I agree with you. Ultimately your photogrpahy will grow and improve only if you are doing what you like, having fun and posting what love. And yes, I like that mailbox...
