Tiger lily | May 27, 2006
notes

Today's picture is my unsuccessful attempt at photographing flowers. I say unsuccessful because I'm not happy at all with the results. I shot these tiger lilies indoors using natural light from large windows, adding a black background, and using a white card to bounce some fill light into the flowers. I didn't bracket, relying instead on the camera's exposure, and I needed to fix exposure problems in Photoshop. I shot at f/19 and still didn't get the DOF I wanted. I've posted it anyway, at least to get some feedback.

I think your picture is good, usually I take most of my flower pictures outdoors but not in FULL sun. The camera I use is a KODAK Easy Share.

I love the contrast, and would like to use your picture. I attach quotes with pictures and some of them are enlarged and put on Mental Health units around illinois. I also have a calendar that NAMI and the State Operated Hospital in which I work sponsor. I get no money for my efforts however the pictures bring hope to so many. May I use your picture? I will make sure that you get credit for taking it!
