The house with the white picket fence | May 3, 2007
notes

A fence near the Riverdale Farm. I processed this for a good while before I was moderately happy with it, then let it sit for a couple of days, but now I'm really starting to like it.

OK, so digital is growing on me. I'm learning to appreciate the speed from image shot to ready-to-process. I'm no longer spending 15 minutes scanning a frame of film and removing dust. It's nice, but I still plan on taking both digital and film bodies out this weekend.

there is a catch...once you get used to not having any down time for processing it is really hard to wait for film. i think it is like vynal records though...somewhere in the crispness there is something lost.

i do like this image. i think it needs a bit more of a direct focal point. maybe just a bit more of the destress of the paint. the green in the background is a nice though.

Einfaches Foto, große Wirkung. I like the DOF.

Simplicity always wins out with me. I'd like to see this same image captured more from the end of the fence, skimming along each plank. It's a beautifully weathered fence and I think you could up the drama a notch or two. It's a great subject!

say something nice
