notes

The previous post was shit and this isn't much better. Sorry. I've got something very different coming soon that I'm really excited about, but I need a few days.

The digital/film debate continues and I guess I'm just worried that I'll find the digital experience too cold. Chantal of New Eyes just made the switch and she seems to love it. I've been thinking of renting or borrowing a Nikon D80 for a weekend just to see what it feels like, so I might do that in a couple of weeks.

UPDATE: Apparently, I'm too critical of my own work, as this photo was featured on blogTO's Morning Brew for March 9th. Thanks for the linkup, Jerrold!

Digital is the way to go... I started in photography only last year and my Nikon D50 was the first camera I have ever used. I've since upgraded to a D200. The thing about digital is seeing your image right away... no guesses on blown out areas etc. Go get a D80, you won't be sorry...

Jason

yeah you were bing too hard on yourself....this is a great image!

and I went back and forth for a long time before finally going digital. I still love film, and will still continue to shoot it on occasion....but what I love most about digital is having 100% control of the outcome of my pictures, from start to finish. And unless you can develop your own negs and print your own pictures, that's just not possible with film. And although I love the darkroom, I simply do not have the space in my home or the patience it requires.

In the end, it the photographer, not the camera....find a camera, whether film or dig, that suits your needs, and don't sweat it :)

say something nice
