Taken in the stairwell leading out of the parking garage at North York Central Library. If you think it doesn't look pretty, I can tell you that it sure didn't smell pretty in there either.
If you're a regular, you'll know that this is the first post in well over a month -- providing that I have any regulars left. It's been a hectic couple of months for me, and I hardly picked up my camera since Christmas. Most of my time has been occupied by never-ending projects and tight deadlines at work, but I did manage to buy a car, design a website for a client (freelance work, hopefully my last, and no I didn't take the pictures), and spend whatever time I had left with my oft-neglected girlfriend and dog. My unintended hiatus couldn't have occurred at a worse time given the magazine mention. I plan to be back to a regular schedule now, although I've got to get out and start shooting again. I'm also looking forward to visiting the photoblogs I used visit daily; I hope everyone else has been shooting.
My old digital point-and-shoot stopped working recently, and my girlfriend wonderfully bought us a new Canon PowerShot SD700 IS, which the above picture was taken with. It's an impressive, tiny camera, and it's making me re-think digital. I'll get into that discussion more in a future post.

Very compelling image - bright designer-like colors yet very down-and-out looking. It is interesting to think that you have to go through this to get to the library!

the colors here are awesome! I love the graphic quality of this image. I'm glad I'm not the only one making the switch :) just don't make it 100%!

Chantal/Ash: I'm not making the switch yet. I've covered more about the film vs. digital argument in the next post. But if I do start moving to digital, it will be with a D-SLR, not the Canon PowerShot. It's a nice enough camera, but it's not flexible enough.
Thanks for the comments, everyone! It's good to be back.
