I'm really disappointed with the pictures I took at Allen Gardens. I blame it on a combination of bad lighting and bad lenses...and poor composition on my part. I used a screw-on type close-up lens on many of my shots which magnified the softness of my 70-210 lens, so none of the shots are clear.

I downloaded new scanning software yesterday called VueScan. It took me a while to figure out the program but the image quality is much better than what I was getting with the software that came bundled with my scanner.

I love the the complemantary colors and the X-ray effect. What kind of lighting produced this?

I shot this from a low angle with strong backlighting from the sun. The leaves are translucent enough to show their structure.
