Toronto is in the middle of a condo boom. This tower, and the one going up next to it, were also in the middle of controversy two years ago when the developer requested permission to build at a density that is nearly 2.5 times that of Toronto's bylaws. (Density is a ratio that has something to do with the building height over land area.) Naturally, the developers won after agreeing to contribute some money to improving the local subway station, and so my neighborhood will be graced by two new towers, measuring 387 and 525 feet. Emporis has some info and 3D renderings for those who are into this sort of stuff.

Nice photo. Where is this in Toronto? I don't recall seeing it anywhere in downtown.

The buildings are going up just south of Eglinton on Yonge. It should be complete in 2008.
